SABINARZ, Richard Born 1928, died 1981 Mainz Germany. Son and pupil of Valentin Sabinarz, below. Pupil at the Mittenwald School of Violin Making 1943-1944 under L. Aschauer. Studies were interrupted by National Military Service, and brief internment in an American prisoner-of-war camp. Resumed course in Mittenwald 1946 under J. Karner. Achieved professional licence and rejoined his father’s workshop in Mainz. Disciplined and accurate work in the Mittenwald manner. Stradivari model. Richard Sabinarz / Mainz gebaut 1958 [Michels]
