SIEBENHÜNER, Anton Born 1851 Luby (Schönbach) Czech Republic, died 1922 Zurich Switzerland. Violin and bow maker. Apprenticed to Gabriel Lembock in Vienna. Worked for two years with Andreas Engleder in Munich; later active in Leipzig and Berlin. Moved to the USA and worked as principal repairer for George Gemunder in New York 1872. Established independently there in 1874. Awarded first prize at Philadelphia Exhibition 1876. Returned to Europe 1878 and settled in Zurich. Very fine work on Stradivari model. Excellent materials.
