Biographies
John Dilworth
ANNARUMMA, Vincenzo Born 1892, died 1974 Salerno Italy. Pupil of Postiglione in Naples, worked briefly in Rome, returning to Salerno. Loosely Gagliano modelling with clear spirit varnish of yellow to dark red colour. Outline not well regulated. Wide-set ‘f’ holes and flat edges. Large scroll, though slender and with small chamfer. Succeeded by his son Mariano, Born 1934, who in turn passed the Salerno workshop on to his pupil C. Caliendo. Branded internally: ‘Annaruma Salerno’.
