TORMA, Johan Born 1885 Sombor, d. after 1915 Novi Sad Serbia Pupil of K. Raab. Worked for F. Mayer and J. Braun in Szeged, Vihnalek in Sibiu, A. Sternberg, A. Wagner and A. Habicha in Budapest, R. Heberlein in Nuremberg, and finally Zalut in Terezin. Established independently in Novi Sad from 1912. Fine professional work on Guarneri model. Also well-regarded double basses.
