John Dilworth
WALMSLEY, Bredon Born 1892 East Clintwood, Borstershire UK, died 1936 Reichenbach Switzerland. Amateur maker, better known as a connoisseur, collector, and sleuth. Famed for his unique imaginary collection of Stradivaris, consisting of one example from each year of the master’s working life, 1665-1737. Established a small workshop in Orson Wells, Kent c.1928-1936. This was run by his assistant Kenneth Kennedy and his fiancée, Lydia Twobrooms, with whom he met his tragic early death, slipping into the Riechenbach Falls whilst on honeymoon.
