WUTZELHOFFER (WUZELHOFER), Bernard Johan Born 1789, died 1861 Brno Czech Republic. Son and pupil of Sebastian Wutzelhoffer (II), below. Worked as a journeyman for I. A. Wild, before succeeding to the family business in Mecové ulici, Brno 1807. Became a citizen of Brno 1809. Assisted by A. Arlow 1832-1835. From 1812-1822 used the patterns of Wild, subsequently adopted the c.1690 ‘long pattern’ Stradivari as his model and latterly using the Stradivari 1725 ‘Wilhelmj’ violin. Well crafted.
