BRINCKMANN, Franz Georg Born 1799, died 1845 Frankfurt Germany. Registered as a master woodworker from 1829. Violins are rare, but well made with rich varnish. More productive as a guitar maker. Henley records a violin with lion’s head and dull brown varnish labelled: Franz Brinning / Frankfurt 1821 and speculates that this might be the same maker.
