John Dilworth
GALEA, Alfredo G. Born 1909 Cairo Egypt Pupil of Coschiera in Alexandria c.1920. Established in Cairo, then in Durban, South Africa c.1945, before emigrating to the USA 1970 and working in Long Beach, California. Stradivari model. Credited with over 200 instruments, but criticised for using his own varnish on old instruments, substantially compromising their authenticity and value. [Wenberg]
