Maker Overview

Arwed Harms is a contemporary German violin maker active in the late 20th and 21st centuries. He initially worked in Cremona, Italy, and later established his workshop in Fivizzano, Tuscany, where he produces violins, violas, and cellos. His work includes a range of models based on classical makers such as Stradivari and Guarneri del Gesù, as well as original designs.

He has made approximately one hundred instruments, including multiple viola models, and his instruments are played by professional musicians internationally, particularly violists and chamber musicians. He is based in Fivizzano (Massa-Carrara), Italy.
