Bruno Franz Paulus was a German violin maker who worked in Mittenwald, in the Karwendel region of Bavaria, active primarily in the decades following the Second World War, with documented instruments dating from the late 1950s through the 1960s.

Paulus trained originally in the Bohemian violin-making tradition, completing his apprenticeship as a journeyman under master luthier Michael Buchner and studying at the esteemed violin-making school in Schönbach (now Luby, Czech Republic). He was displaced from Schönbach in the postwar upheaval and resettled in Mittenwald, where he quickly adapted to the local Mittenwald style — a tradition distinct from his Bohemian training, but one he came to interpret with confidence and skill.
