Life
(b. 1957) American violin maker, restorer and dealer. Fourth-generation member of the Moennig family of Philadelphia and last representative of the direct Moennig violin-making line. Worked in the family firm of William Moennig & Son, one of the leading American violin houses, and became head of the business in 2004. Best known for restoration, expertise and dealing in fine stringed instruments and bows, though a small number of instruments bearing his name are recorded. The firm closed in 2010, ending more than one hundred years of Moennig activity in Philadelphia.
