Life
He trained under his father, Hermann Albert Hoyer, passed his master examination in 1949, and established his own workshop in 1950. He specialized particularly in double-bass bows, while also making bows for other string instruments. His work continued the family tradition, described as one of Germany’s oldest bow-making families.
