Maker Overview
Life
He initially trained and worked as a maker of modern violins and cellos before studying historical bowed-instrument construction at West Dean College in England. Since 1995, he has specialized in viola da gamba, Renaissance and Baroque viols, and Baroque violins and violas. His instruments are based on surviving originals and historical iconography, and he also undertakes repair and restoration work.
