ABERG, Frans Christian Born 1822, Fru Alstad, died 1871 Copenhagen Sweden. Active in Malmö 1861-1869. Moved to Copenhagen in 1869. Very considerable maker. Author of a fine copy, dated 1864, of the Stradivari ‘Servais’ cello. Good varnish of orange colour. May have had some experience in Paris to judge from his fine workmanship. [Nilsson]
