ARCHIBALD, Walter B. Born 1904 Nova Scotia Canada, died 1988 Berkeley, California USA. Worked for Koodlach in Los Angeles 1927-1929. Established independently in San Francisco from 1930. Entered partnership with Kurt Jacob from c.1945 as ‘Jacob & Archibald’, an enterprise that closed in 1958. Eight violins and four violas made on various models, using his own oil varnish preparation. Primarily occupied with repair work.
