John Dilworth

BAUER, Jean Born 1914 Laval, Worked 1949 Angers France. Son of Gaston Bauer, above. Pupil of M. Didier in Mattaincourt, working in Le Havre in 1936, but forced to move by the events of the Second World War to Angers. Early work on the Guarneri model, but later developed a personal style based on classical proportions. Very fine work with good transparent red-orange varnish.
