Maker Overview
Jan Bobak (b. 1951) is a Polish violin maker from Nowy Targ, trained locally and later in Chicago with William Harris Lee & Co. He won first prize at the 1986 Wieniawski Violin Making Competition and has produced hundreds of violins, violas, and cellos inspired by Italian masters. His workshop, Bobak Violino, is now run with his son Grzegorz.
