Biographies
John Dilworth
BONDANELLI, Chiarissimo Born 1910, d. after 1971 Novara, Piedmont Italy. Chemist by profession. Active violin and bow maker from 1946. Exhibited in Ancona 1957. Awarded gold medal 1971. Appointed restorer of Paganini’s del Gesù ‘Cannone’ violin in Genoa in 1979. Classical models. Developed and made his own golden-yellow varnish from a combination of alcohol and turpentine. Fece a Novara nel 1949 / Bondanelli Chiarissimo Also inscribed: ‘Ti feci col cuore, con l’aiuto di Dio, or suona.’
