John Dilworth

BROWN, James (I) Born 1759, died 1834 London UK. Originally a silk-weaver in Shoreditch. Pupil and assistant of Thomas Kennedy c.1800. Subsequently established his own shop in Wheeler Street, Spitalfields. Good quality work, but unremarkable for the time and place. Some have good red varnish, otherwise a tendency towards a dull brown.
