David Burgess is an award-winning American violin maker based in Ann Arbor, Michigan since 1976. Trained under Hans Weisshaar, he has earned multiple international gold medals for tone and craftsmanship. His violins, violas, and cellos—often modeled after Stradivari and Guarneri—are hand-crafted and favoured by professional musicians for their power and responsiveness. Though modern in origin, his instruments reflect classical Italian aesthetics and are considered among the finest by contemporary makers.
