CASTRUCCI, Pietro Born 1689, died 1752 Rome Italy. Player and maker of violins, a pupil of Arcangelo Corelli and concert master of G. F. Handel in 1715. Designed and made the violetta marina, a type of viola d’amore, which he then played in concert in London and Dublin.
