John Dilworth
CHENANTAIS, Jules Edouard Born 1854, died 1942 Nantes France. Medical doctor and amateur cellist. Designed and made a cello with the assistance of Paul Kaul which won a tone competition in Paris in 1910. Repeated this success with violin in 1912 which led to partnership with Charles Le Lyonnais making instruments commercially. ‘Chenantais-Kaul’ / Nantes No..
