Biographies
John Dilworth
CORSINI, Giorgio Born 1913 Tivoli, fl.from 1952 Rome Italy. Violinist and self taught violin maker, guided by R. Fredi. Fine craftsman. Various models with a range of varnishes. Also made cellos, double basses, viols, and viola d’amores. Occupied with repair work for the atelier of Fredi, by this time run by his daughter, from 1949 to 1951. Established his own shop 1952. Medals at the 3rd violin making competition in Rome, and in Florence 1957. Very highly regarded maker and restorer.
