DAHL, Ole Steffen Born 1919 Copenhagen Denmark, d. after 1978 Bloomington, Indiana USA. Apprenticed to Emil Hjorth 1937-1943. Emigrated to Chicago1948, working for Lyon & Healey until 1950, and subsequently for Kenneth Warren until 1963. Established in Bloomington, Indiana 1963. Appointed luthier to the School of Music at Indiana University. Stradivari model with commercial varnish. Greatly occupied with repair work, but produced 35 violins, two violas, and three cellos.
