John Dilworth

DAY, William Samuel (II) Born 1887, Worked Plymouth & London UK. Instruments made with his father, and later alone, generally on the large size, and to a variety of Italian models from fine quality woods. Produced own varnish in tints from yellow to dark red. Bows made on patterns of Tourte, Tubbs, Panormo, Peccatte, and others. Emigrated to Brisbane, Australia in 1925. Manuscript label: W. S. Day / London 1912 W. S. Day. Plymouth / Faciebat. Anno 1924
