DELLA COSTA, Pietro Antonio Worked circa. 1740-1770 Treviso Italy. Although working in nearby Treviso, is classified as a maker of the Venetian school. Work is neat and charming in the Amati manner, although a little weaker than the finest Venetian makers of the period. Varnish relatively thin-textured. His introduction to violin making may have been through Pietro Zenatto, who was working in Treviso at the end of the 17th century.
