DEMEY, Marcel Born 1896, d. after 1948 Lille France. Pupil of Pierre Jean Henri Hel from 1909 and subsequently his assistant until his death in 1937. Continued at the shop until 1943 working for Hel’s widow. Subsequently established his own business in Lille. Awarded gold medal for craftsmanship by a French jury. Cremonese models, limited in number due to his work as a restorer and repairer. Signed internally on back and front. Branded: ‘M.Demey à Lille’.
