Was working in Lyons in 1618, according to a label found in a bass-viol of seven strings, with brown-black varnish, and the head carved : “P. Demouchi a Lyon, 1618.”

Seine Arbeit erinnert noch an deutsche Vorbilder. Eine Bass viola von 1618
befindet sich in Berlin (Sammlung Snoeck No. 485), die einen braunschwarzen
Lack und ein geschnitztes Köpfchen zeigt. Eine Viola da Gamba von 1633 von ihm ist im National-Museum in München (No 121) mit C- statt F-Löchern; der Name ist hier De Mouchi geschrieben.
