DENNISON, Thomas Worked circa. 1878 Penrith, Cumbria UK. A fine surviving violin is very Florentine in appearance, with full Staineresque arching and long angled soundholes, thin pale golden yellow varnish, and plain wood. Probably associated with J. Scott, a local and contemporary maker. It is entirely possible that many such instruments have been relabelled by dealers with Florentine or other provincial Italian names. at Yannath near Penrith / musical instrument maker / fecit no. 628.
