Franco Fanello

Bologna, 1929–2022

Franco Fanello (1929–2022) was an Italian amateur violin maker active in Bologna, Italy. He learned the craft directly from his uncle, the distinguished Bolognese maker Paolo Morara, who had himself been a pupil of Giuseppe Fiorini. Through this connection, Fanello was linked to an important lineage within twentieth-century Italian violin making.
