FERRARONI, Pietro Alfonso Born 1910 Venice, died 1991 Cremona Italy. Active as luthier and sculptor from 1929. Associate of Digiuni, Schiavi, and Tatar. Worked on classical models with some personal inflections. Transparent golden-yellow varnish. Entered violin and cello in 2nd Cremona Triennale 1979. An annual award for the best scroll carving at the International Violin Making School, Cremona is named in his honour. [Nicolini]
