John Dilworth

GAGGINI, Pierre Born 1903, Worked from 1934 Nice France. Nephew and pupil of Alberto Blanchi. Fine work on a personal model; also copies of Guarneri. Golden-yellow to deep red varnish. Gold medal in Paris 1937, diploma of honour at The Hague 1949, first prize at Liège 1954, gold medal Rome 1956. Appointed ‘Meilleur Ouvrier de France’ 1957. Petrus Gaggini / Nicéa Civitas, 1934
