John Dilworth

GÄRTNER, Eugen Born 1864, died 1944 Stuttgart Germany. Pupil of Sprenger in Stuttgart and Simoutre in Paris. Established own workshop in Stuttgart 1891. Appointed maker and repairer to the King of Württemberg. Credited with over 500 violins, violas, and cellos and awarded various Exhibition medals. Fine workmanship and materials, with good oil varnish. Branded: ‘E. G.’.
