John Dilworth
HENRY, Charles Born 1803, died 1859 Paris France. Son, pupil, and successor of Jean Baptiste Henry, below. Prolific maker of violins, violas, and cellos on various patterns. Very well-finished and of consistently fine quality. Red varnish on a yellow ground. Devised an octave-violin called the ‘Baryton’ 1847. Medals awarded in Paris 1849 and 1855.
