HOPF, David Christian (I) Born 1734, died 1803 Quittenbach, nr. Klingenthal Germany. Member of the Violin Maker’s Guild at Neukirchen. Generally poorly proportioned model and inconsistent workmanship with decent red-brown varnish. Some better, more refined work with clear golden varnish. David Christian Hopf, Musicus / Instrumentalis in Qvittenbach, 1750.
