HÖRLEIN, Karl Adam Born 1829 Winkelhof, died 1902 Würzburg Germany. Pupil of Joseph Vauchel. Spent three years in Vienna with Anton Hoffmann and Gabriel Lembock. Established in Kitzingen, Bavaria 1853 and from 1866 in Würzburg. Repairer to the Duke of Sachsen-Meiningen. Personal and Stradivari-derived models. Fine workmanship with both oil and spirit varnish.
