John Dilworth

HYDE, Andrew Born 1842, died 1923 Northampton, Massachusetts USA. Musician and mechanic. Active violin and bow maker from 1886 in Northampton. Previously worked for Thomas Edison. Prolific maker credited with over 1,200 Stradivari model violins, violas, and cellos. Tourte model bows. Made some instruments for John C. Haynes. Author of A Treatise on the Violin (Northampton, 1902). Made by Andrew Hyde / Instrument Maker / in Northampton, 1894.
