Sohn von Franz Jais und wohl auch dessen Schüler. Seine Arbeit steht auf gleicher Höhe mit der seiner besseren Zeitgenossen, namentlich verdient sein schönes Deckenholz gelobt zu werden. Sein Lack ist gelb oder gelbbraun.
