Maker Overview
Life
Born in Breitenfeld, he trained with his brother-in-law Carl August Lippert and subsequently worked for several established German workshops, including those of A. Zeitler, A. Voigt, and C. & O. Moeckel. He established his own workshop in Markneukirchen in 1918, producing well-regarded violins and also guitars, generally in the German tradition of the period.
