LAURENT, Emile (I) Born 1854 Mirecourt France, died 1914 Brussels Belgium. Apprenticed to Auguste Darte. Subsequently worked for Joseph Hel in Lille. Established independently in Brussels from 1900. Prolific maker; fine copies of classical models with golden- or red-brown varnish of appropriate shades, some with crackled texture.
