LECAVELLÉ, Victor Born 1836, d. after 1908 Mirecourt France. Brother of François Xavier Lecavellé, above. Worked for Bernardel and the Brothers Gand in Paris. From 1856-1863 established in Nîmes, then moved to Béziers 1863-1908. Stradivari-derived model. Fine workmanship. Shaded red-brown varnish. Violas and cellos also. Branded on back. Manuscript label: Fait par Victor Lecavellé / luthier à Béziers. An 1888
