LECHLEITNER, Christian Born circa. 1758 Tyrol Austria, died 1821 Leiden Netherlands Violinist and luthier, active from c.1797 in Leiden. Some instruments of very Tyrolean style, high-arched with dark varnish; others more in the manner of contemporary Dutch makers, Lefebvre and Cuypers, with heavy yellow varnish.
