Biographies

John Dilworth

LOTTE, François Born 1889, died 1970 Mirecourt France. Bow maker. Son of Georges Lotte, below. Worked for, and probably trained by, Bazin up to 1921. Subsequently employed by Cuniot-Hury and in 1925 formed a brief and unsuccessful partnership with V. Brouillier. Worked independently from 1926, initially at 63 rue Vuillaume, later at no. 8, and finally at 14 Quai du Breuil. Employed R. Bernard, M. Lapierre, M. Mangenot, and his son Roger François. Retired c.1960, but maintained a workspace in his son’s shop. Bows branded: FRANCOIS LOTTE, Fcois LOTTE, FRANÇOIS LOTTE
