LUND, Gideon C. Born 1906, Worked Sweden.& USA. Apprenticed there as a cabinet maker, but began making violins c.1919. Emigrated to the USA 1927. Worked for P. C. Paulsen and subsequently spent 30 years with William Lewis in Chicago. Moved to Santa Cruz 1961. Credited with over 100 violins, 12 cellos, and 36 double basses, as well as guitars. [Wenberg]
