MAGGIALI, Cesare Born 1886 Moneta, Tuscany, d. after 1954 La Spezia, Genoa Italy. Amateur maker active in Fossola, Carrara from 1951; later established at 52 Corso Cavour, La Spezia. Received guidance from I. Sderci. Stradivari and Guarneri models with golden-brown varnish. Exhibited at Cremona 1937. Gold medal at Rome 1954. Credited with 150 violins, 10 violas, and three cellos.
