Biographies
John Dilworth
MANSUY Worked circa. 1740-1786 Mirecourt France. Established in Mirecourt though sometimes gave Paris as his place of work. Superior Stradivari copies in the Mirecourt style with the characteristic dull yellow varnish of that place but sometimes with an improved orange or red-brown recipe. The name continued to be used by commercial Mirecourt manufacturers after 1900. Branded: ‘Mansuy à Paris’, or ‘Mansuy. Mirecourt’.
