Albert Willy Born 1890 Markneukirchen, died 1978 Kansas City, Missouri USA. Violin and bow maker. Pupil of Wilhelm Martin and Ernst Kessler. Worked for Karel Van Der Meer in Amsterdam and for Georg Winterling in Hamburg. Emigrated to the USA and worked for Hornsteiner in Chicago and Rosenfield in Kansas City c.1918. Established independently in Kansas City from 1920. Stradivari and Guarneri models. Distinctive pegbox opened up for better access to A peg. Yellow or red-brown copal oil varnish. Bows branded: A. WILLY MARTIN [Wenberg]
