Maker Overview
Maucotel & Deschamp was a Paris violin-making firm active in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Founded by Charles Claude Maucotel, who trained in Mirecourt and worked with Georges Chanot and J.B. Vuillaume, the workshop was later continued in partnership with Deschamp. The firm produced violins, violas, and cellos in the French tradition, known for solid craftsmanship and reflecting the influence of the Vuillaume school.
