MAUGIN, J. G. Worked circa. 1825-1894 Paris France. Violinist and writer. Published Manuel du luthier (1834) and Nouvel Manuel Complet (1894). Henley credits him with prolific production of violins (generally of Amati model), guitars, and bows, but these may well have been commercially produced in Mirecourt. Some branded: ‘Maugin à Paris’.
