MERCOLINI, Pietro Born 1821 Monteprandone, died 1891 Civitella, Teramo Italy. Known as ‘Venie’. Farmer and violin maker. Pupil of Francesco Maurizi. Labels give several different towns in the region as domicile: Colli del Tronto, S. Egidio alla Vibrata, Controguerra, and Civitella. Fairly coarse workmanship with greenish-brown varnish. Manuscript labels: Pietro Merconlini / fece in Ancarano Anno 1865 Pietro Mercolini / fece in Controguerra nel 1852
